High Hopes for Cocoa Farmers in Africa, As AfDB Plans Big for Producing Countries

Cocoa production in Africa is set to take a turn for the better, as the African Development Bank (AfDB) begin plans to support producers of the crop on the continent.

Among other planned interventions, the Bank is considering support to Ghana and CĂ´te d'Ivoire to reduce the volatility of the international prices of cocoa.

'Namaskar 2017' expo aims to boost India-West Africa trade

A three-day "Namaskar 2017" exposition, to be held in Accra later this month, aims to brand India as a leading economic player and partner of the West African region and boost two-way trade.

It will help facilitate Indian investments into Ghana and neighbouring West African countries, create awareness about the best Indian technologies and products in the region as well as explore opportunities offered by the region, leading Indian industry lobby Ficci said.

GHANA IS THE 18TH MOST ATTRACTIVE INVESTMENT DESTINATION IN AFRICA

Recently, Quantum Global’s independent research arm, Quantum Global Research Lab launched the latest Africa Investment Index (AII) at the Movenpick Hotel in Accra Ghana. According to the report, Ghana is the eighteenth most attractive economy for investments flowing into the African continent. In 2016, the country attracted a net foreign direct investment of US$3.5 billion. However, the report revealed that the top five African investment destinations attracted an overall FDI of $13.6 billion.
