Nyandarua Will Benefit From a Sh19 Million Water Project That Would Provide Clean Water

Over 23,000 residences in Rurii Ward, Ol-Kalou Constituency, will benefit from a multi-million dollar water project that Ol-Kalou Water Company (Ol-WASCO), in collaboration with the Nyandarua County administration, will deliver.

The water from the planned Sh19 million Kirima Water borehole would be piped to Rurii Village, Plot-10, Silanga, among other communities.

The governor of Nyandarua, Kiarie Badilisha, has stated that the project will help the people in the area find water, and he has thus urged them to work together to make sure it succeeds.

Water hydrological surveyors and experts who conducted a test here have determined that we are quite fortunate to have a very substantial subsurface water reservoir in this location. At least four communities will have adequate water to drink, according to Badilisha.

He gave a speech at the Kirima borehole groundbreaking event and afterwards donated water harvesting tanks to low-income residents.

The governor mentioned that one of his change manifesto items is the provision of clean water, which he had pledged to the people of Nyandarua during his gubernatorial campaigns in advance of the general election in 2022.

Ol-WASCO Managing Director Esther Muthoni said measures are underway to extend coverage in the clean water supply.
